It’s the middle of January, 4 weeks since the first deliveries started for our spring summer wedding outfits. And what a month it has been. It is safe to say 2018 is off to a flying start. That’s bad news of course for any Veni Infantino lovers who haven’t got their skates on yet, as the collection is half sold already. And we won’t be getting anymore until June! Most companies now have delivered a selection of styles, but there is still a lot more due in over the coming weeks.
Aideen Bodkin has also started deliveries, but we won’t be able to release images until the end of the month, but if you give us a call, we can talk you through what’s here. Fely Campo is nearly completely delivered and it is causing quite the stir upstairs, with regular oohs and aahs being heard. Luis Civit has also sent in a few styles and typically, there are sizes gone already in the usual best sellers. All the designers have sent in a selection at this stage, Zeila, Cabotine, Gina Bacconi, etc. The two main ones we are still waiting on is Caroline Kilkenny and our new label Sarah R, but they could arrive any day now.
The most commonly asked question on the phone and by email is when will your stock be “fully delivered”. The best answer to that is, we will probably take in our last delivery sometime around the middle of February. BUT, we took in our first deliveries during December. And what was delivered then, went out onto the floor and started to sell the same day. So our “full collection” is never all available on the floor at the one time.
Last weekend, we had some customers disappointed that their size was gone in a particular outfit they had seen on the website. I understand how frustrating this can be, but trust me, nine times out of ten, when customers come to see a particular outfit, and it is still there in the right size, it is rarely the outfit that they end up purchasing. It is important to try on lots of different styles, shapes and colours. As the age old saying goes…”what’s for you, won’t pass you by”.
The other piece of advice I would give is, don’t judge anything from a picture! The images we use are to be used only as a reference. Yes it’s important to have the website to give you the customer an idea of the labels that we carry and the selection we choose to stock from each designer. But that’s all it is. It’s only a reference guide. There is nothing more successful than coming with an open mind and letting our girls find you something to fall in love with. They know the stock, they know which styles suit which figures, they know colours, cuts, etc. That’s our job, it’s what we do every day.
We want to find you something that will have everyone in the room ask you where you got your outfit. We don’t just want to sell you “something”. We want you to look amazing. You, our customer, are our biggest advert. There’s nothing more powerful than word of mouth. Trust me, we’ve done every form of advertising known to mankind, but what we hear most from new customers is that they were recommended to come by a friend. So, use our expertise and let us guide you what is here, rather than get hung up on what is gone. We look forward to meeting you and playing a small part in your big day.
